What is AthEnS?
Athletic Enhancement Services, is designed to increase SAQ (speed, agility, quickness), power, explosiveness, vertical jump, sport specific development, and mental skills enhancement in all athletes.
Why is AthEnS better suited for me?
Athletic Enhancement Services raises the bar by taking the time to help each student-athlete outside of his/her training dates. Coach Samuels takes it upon himself to evaluate his athlete’s performance during their sporting events. He makes time to go over game film with athlete(s), create periodization programs for their strength needs ($199 value), and gets involved in the academic progress of his student-athletes. Coach Samuels has also spoken in school classes as a guest speaker at the request of teachers of his student-athletes. Whatever it takes to help you, AthEnS will be there to get you to the next level.
What types of training methods are used?
Our methods of training consist of strength and conditioning, plyometrics, sport specific workouts, psychological skills training, and education of how energy systems affect performance. Pre-testing and post-testing will be used to measure the athlete’s progress relative to their goals and sport.
Are there any athletes that AthEnS will not assist?
No. Athletic Enhancement Services will assist in the development of any athlete who wants to go above and beyond their current athletic skill level.
When and where does the training take place?
Training takes place Monday through Saturday from 8:00am- 10:00pm (times and days slightly vary with the seasons). Coach Samuels utilizes the homes of the athletes, community centers, outdoor parks, football fields, baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, and his own mini facility at his home. Athletes can train in any amount of space with the proper equipment, creativity, and a qualified personal coach.
Is the training for individual athletes only?
No. AthEnS trains individuals as much as small groups and teams. Beyond physical and mental training, Coach Samuels also does seminars and speaking engagements for teams, companies, etc.
What is MindWorks?
MindWorks is positive mental training used for developing and furthering psychological skills to heighten athletic performance, personal growth, and to assist in the recuperation of athletic injuries. The program emphasizes goal setting, imagery/visualization, enhancing confidence, focus/concentration, maintaining motivation, relaxation, among other areas.
What is Plyometrics?
This type of exercise is geared towards gaining tremendous power and explosiveness in a short amount time. It encompasses jump training, agility drills and resistance training by using your own body weight along with specialized equipment.
How do I sign up for AthEnS?
Begin by calling Coach Samuels and give him a detailed synopsis of what type of training you are looking for. A consultation is then set up to discuss the various programs to best suit the athlete’s needs.
